Grangewood Brickwork Services are pleased to announce the successful completion of this new iconic Art Gallery, for Main Contractor Walter Lilly.
The precise quality and finish of this New Art Gallery is one of our finest achievements to date, months of forward planning and a feasibility study were carried out prior to this project being awarded to determine if the exact specifications and the absolute minimum of tolerances could be achieved. The execution and delivery of the work to the strictest guidelines resulted in an amazing piece of architecture.
Externally the existing façade was restored and extended either end with bricks carefully chosen to match the existing, for size colour and texture, laid in lime mortar and incorporating bespoke brick arches, numerous special handmade special bricks and feature “saw tooth” gable ends.
Internally, Oslo Pearl White bricks, laid in lime mortar were used to construct 4 number Ellipse stair cases from ground level to roof, the setting out and control tolerances were at an absolute minimum as the stair cases incorporated feature brick lintels and soffits, bespoke inset curved stone hand rails and wooden stairs, all finished to the highest and most exacting standard.
